Windows To My Soul
(Check back regularly as we add new events to the schedule all the time)
May 5 thru 6, Natural Lifemanship Fundamentals Training
Windows To My Soul is please to be hosting once again the Natural Lifemanship Fundamentals Training
Founded on modern neuroscience and the principles of trauma-informed care, Natural Lifemanship promotes healing, recovery and positive development through the process of building connected relationships. The Fundamentals of NL training teaches how the brain develops and changes to accommodate survival and other needs; why relationships are so central to neurodevelopment; and how to intentionally build relationships in ways that support health and healing of self and others.
The relationship principles that we teach are demonstrated, experienced and practiced with horses at our Fundamentals of NL trainings. The training provides a solid foundation in Natural Lifemanship’s Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP) model for mental health and equine professionals who practice equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP). It also provides a solid foundation for individuals who are simply interested in understanding how trauma and toxic stress affect the brain, and how relationships with self and others may be built in ways that promote health and well-being. In addition to mental health and equine professionals, the Fundamentals of NL training is often attended by teachers, parents (including foster and adoptive parents), and others.
June 11, Spring Fundraiser, Golf Tournament
We are doing it! Thanks to the Cold Springs Golf and Country Club and Bob Ackley, Windows is embarking on a new adventure in fundraising. Please support us. More information coming soon.
July 20 thru 22, Natural Lifemanship Intensive Training
The NL Intensive provides the opportunity for you to build a connected relationship with a horse over the course of the three-day training. Each pair or participants is partnered with one horse and you will practice Natural Lifemanship principles to build connection through attachment and detachment, first on the ground, and eventually mounted, on a bareback pad in the round pen.
To attend this training, you must have completed the Fundamentals Training. Click here to learn more and register for the event.
September 8, 5th Annual Fundraising Gala with Dave Stamey
Mark your calendars, Dave is coming back and we are planning to make this 5th Annual Gala extra special. Tickets and registration details coming soon.
September 22, Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
This event is meant to thank and celebrate those who have been, for the past year, directly responsible for building Windows To My Soul into a center for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Personal Development. Preliminary results of the 5th Annual Gala will also be reported. Invitations will be sent out in by mid by mid August.
This is not a Windows To My Soul hosted event. The Relationship Logic (RL) Immersion is a 3-day training that focuses on applying NL principles on the ground as you develop a connected relationship with an untrained horse. Participant-trainer ratio is limited to no more than 4:1, with a maximum of 10-12 participants per training. Relationship Logic is one of the two core components of TF-EAP, along with Rhythmic Riding. Therapy teams must know the Natural Lifemanship model well enough to discern how and when to use NL ground work and when to use mounted work. Whether the relationship between client and horse is occurring on the ground or mounted, Relationship Logic is always in effect.
